The NBA also held a moment of silence to honour Walton’s life before Game 4 of the Boston Celtics-Indiana Pacers matchup in the Eastern Conference finals on Monday night.

Walton entered the Hall of Fame in 1993 asnone of the game’s most celebrated figures. His Basketball career was disrupted by several chronic foot injuries.

Walton found post-career success as a basketball commentator, becoming well-known for his “infectious enthusiasm and love for the game,” according to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
