Executive secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has said the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has started well and his efforts to sanitise the nation’s capital in line with the mandate of President Bola Tinubu is commendable.

Adegbite who made this known when the acting director of the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, (FCTCPWB), Mrs. Rahila Isa-Baita, led the management team of the board on a courtesy visit to his office.
According to the executive secretary, “let it be on record that the NCPC commends the Honourable Minister of FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike for a job well done, and we will continue to pray that he succeeds and even exceeds expectations.”

He further said that it was also important to state that their task in NCPC is beyond pilgrimage, but to also foster peaceful coexistence amongst people of different faiths in Nigeria to promote national unity and patriotism.
The executive secretary revealed that very soon, the planned pilgrimage to Greece and Rome will take place, stating that the NCPC is determined to follow due process, and that there will be no compromise, insisting that the very best in terms of service will be offered to Nigerian pilgrims.
Earlier, the acting director of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, (FCTCPWB), Isa-Baita, appealed to the executive secretary of NCPC to end unhealthy competition in the territory for pilgrims.

She said that this will be stemmed if NCPC focuses exclusively on coordination and oversight, while the board harvests the pilgrims.
While congratulating the executive secretary on his appointment, she assured the executive secretary of the board’s unflinching support and cooperation.
“You have come at the right time to provide exemplary leadership and pilot activities, of not just the FCTCPWB, but the entire boards in all the states of the nation.

“We are very optimistic that you will ensure that pilgrimage in Nigeria yields many positive dividends that will contribute to sustainable national development. Any time you call on us, we will always be available,” she said.
