The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) of Nigeria has called for collaboration from all stakeholders in Bauchi State to enhance the welfare of women and children.
The national president, Hajiya Jummai Liman Bello, made the appeal during an interactive session with various women groups on societal pre-orientation and women empowerment, held at the council’s conference hall in Bauchi yesterday.
She said collaboration is crucial, noting that NCWS’ activities were not widely known, and stressed the need for partnerships to effectively advocate for the rights and well-being of women and children in the state.
On the subject of women in politics, the NCWS president said the organisation was building a support network to help women attain political positions.
She added that increased female political participation would positively impact sectors such as education, healthcare, and legislation, ultimately benefiting marginalised groups.
