The chairman of LEADERSHIP Newspapers Group, Mrs. Zainab Nda-Isaiah, has commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, for her tireless advocacy on behalf of the less-privileged across the country.
Mrs Nda-Isaiah gave the commendation when she led the management team of the media house on a courtesy visit to the First Lady at the State House in Abuja.
According to a statement by the media aide of the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, on Tuesday, Nda-Isaiah pointed out that she had been closely observing the Senator Tinubu’s humanitarian efforts nationwide and felt it was both timely and important to express heartfelt gratitude for her service as the “Mother of the Nation.”
During the visit, the vice chairman of LEADERSHIP, Mike Okpere, briefed the First Lady on the media organisation’s ongoing charity initiatives and called for a strategic collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) aimed at empowering 1,000 individuals.
Okpere said each of those targeted for empowerment is expected to mentor and uplift four others to ultimately empower 2,000,000 Nigerians.
According to the vice chairman, the initiative will focus on providing practical skills across various sectors of the economy, including tie and dye, fishing, tailoring, among others.
He noted that the goal was to help individuals achieve financial independence and become productive members of the society.
The First Lady, who welcomed the proposed initiative, assured the delegation of her willingness to collaborate with the news organisation, especially in areas that promote empowerment and sustainable development.
While expressing gratitude for the visit and the consistent support shown by LEADERSHIP Newspapers over the years, Senator Tinubu noted that the task of helping and supporting Nigerians cannot be done by government alone but with the collaborative efforts of all Nigerians.
