The Nigeria Democratic Congress(NDC), has dissociated itself from the announcement of the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement Presidential Campaign Council.

The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement on Thursday unveiled a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The council, announced in a statement has the Director-General of the movement, John Ughulu, as director-general of the campaign, while the national secretary, Saadatu Sani is to also serve as secretary of the team.

But the leadership of NDC said the campaign council did not emanate from the party and should be disregarded by the public and the media.

The national chairman of NDC, Senator Cleopas Moses in a statement said only the party’s leadership can constitute and announce a Presidential Campaign Council.

“The leadership of our party, the NDC has noted with concern a publication credited to one John Ugulu announcing a Presidential Campaign Council under the guise of “OK Movement.”
