National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has said Nigerians are angry with the current state of the country and are hungry for a change.

He stated this at the unveiling of NDC digital membership registration portal in Abuja.

The unveiling ceremony was led by the National Leader of the party, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, with the National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses, National Secretary Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, and some State Chairmen and other party leaders and stakeholders.

Dickson said the digital platform has modernised the party’s operations and encouraged political participation among Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.

Commenting on the current political climate in the country, Dickson said many Nigerians were increasingly dissatisfied with the status quo and were searching for credible alternatives.

“Nigerians are angry with the status quo. Nigerians are not only angry, they are also hungry, and they are hungry for change,” he said, adding that the NDC was positioned to serve as a credible platform for political transformation.

Dickson further described the party as a fresh and crisis-free political movement focused on ideological politics and national development.

He said Nigerians can now register as NDC members from any part of the country, adding that proper documentation and effective management of membership records will be done.

The senator said noted the party has attracted significant attention and support across the country, despite being only weeks old.

“I thank you all Nigerians, because upon hearing that good news, you all encouraged by messages, by calls, and showed your readiness to support this vision to salvage our country,” he said.

He said the NDC is structured as a pan-Nigerian democratic movement with experienced political operatives already coordinating activities across states, local government areas and wards.

“We are a national party. We are a pan-Nigerian democratic movement. We are not a regional movement,” Dickson said.

He explained that the digital registration system would be complemented by manual registration forms to ensure inclusiveness, particularly for citizens in rural communities who may not have access to digital tools. The printed forms, he said, would be distributed through state, local government and ward officials to assist those who are unable to register online.

Dickson expressed confidence that the party would meet the registration requirements despite the limited time available, noting that party officials at various levels had already been mobilised to support the process and help Nigerians who wish to join the party.

“The NDC is available as the tool for effecting the change Nigerians want,” he added.

Drawing a biblical analogy, the former Bayelsa State governor likened the emergence of the NDC to the story of Noah’s Ark, urging Nigerians seeking genuine political change to align with the new platform.

“In the Bible, when Noah knew what was going to happen and prepared the ark, people thought he was crazy. But when the flood eventually came, they began to run to the ark and it was too late,” he said. “The NDC in Nigeria of today, politically, is like Noah’s family. Those who can see the signs should come on board early.”

Also speaking at the event, the National Chairman of the party, Senator Cleopas Moses, said the digital membership portal would make it easier for Nigerians to join the party and participate in its activities.

According to him, NDC embraces the digitisation of the membership registration process which will promoting transparency, accountability and inclusiveness within the party while expanding its grassroots presence across the country.

He added that the registration platform would strengthen the party’s mobilisation drive and help build a broad membership base ahead of future political engagements.

Interested Nigerians can register through the party’s official website at www.ndcnigeria.com and obtain their membership cards through the digital platform.
