The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has congratulated the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on its 25th anniversary, revealing its plan distributing solar fans in some communities.
“We commend the Commission’s developmental role in the Niger Delta region, transforming lives and promoting sustainable development,” IAWPA’s International Spokesman, Amb Emmanuel Nkweke, said in a statement made available by its Media Director, Amb. Nwokoma Messiah.
The global peace advocacy group with special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN) since 2019, commended the interventionist Commission under Dr. Samuel Ogbuku’s leadership as the managing director (MD).
“IAWPA particularly commends the current Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, for the transformative strides he has brought to the Commission. His leadership has ushered in a new era of development, innovation, and progress in the region.”
IAWPA further stated that NDDC’s 25th anniversary celebration which will be marked by the launch of the Niger Delta Sports Festival and a free medical outreach programme, demonstrated the Commission’s commitment to promoting development, health, and well-being in the region. IAWPA saluted the Commission’s efforts and looks forward to a continued collaboration.
The association said as a token of solidarity, IAWPA will distribute solar fans to top-level officials of the Commission. “This gesture is part of our ongoing solar fans project, aimed at providing sustainable solutions to communities in the Niger Delta region.”
IAWPA reaffirms its commitment to promoting peace, sustainable development, and cooperation in the Niger Delta region. The statement said the association looks forward to continued partnership with the NDDC whose Managing Director Amb. Samuel Ogbuku is a committed member of the association and an Eminent Peace Ambassador. It said the association will continue celebrating the Commission’s future successes.
The association will pay a thank-you visit to NDDC on Friday, June 13, 2025, to present the initial set of the solar fans to the top management members in appreciation of their effort in promoting SDG in the Niger Delta as the commission marks her 25th anniversary
