The Niger Delta Development Commission has conducted training for it’s middle Cadre Staff .The training which was themed “Policy making, Security Management in a dynamic world “ took place in the three states of the Niger Delta region namely Cross River,Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa.
Speaking at the training event, the Commission’s Deputy Director of Human Resources, Chris Ekam lauded the efforts of the board in seeing the need for staff to have this training and admonished participants to pay close attention and take maximum advantage of the training as the likelihood that would form part of the basis of promotion.
“ I enjoin all participants to be mindful of what this training entails, as it can appear in the promotion exams, so make sure to take maximum advantage of this training session” he said.
Commenting on the relevance of the training to staff, the NDDC director for Cross River, Ene-Okpo Ene-Ita reiterated that policy making cuts across all levels as its implementation produces a broadband response and enjoined all participants to actively participate.
“Policy making is everybody’s business, it cuts across all cadres and so it is important that the participants take all they have learnt seriously and implement what they have learnt in the execution of their duties”.
The three day training session which was executed by Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development (SCDDD) across the states saw participants garner knowledge on Policy Making, Conflict Management, Security Management as concerns physical security and document security .
Present at the training sessions were the NDDC state directors of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states, Ene-Okpo Ene -Ita and Udoette Obot Brown .
