Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has asked members of the public to ignore a portal which advertised mass recruitment by the intervention agency.
Apart from disowning the portal yesterday, the commission said it was not embarking on any form of recruitment.
In a statement issued by its director of corporate Affairs, Dr Ibitoye Abosede, the NDDC said its attention had been drawn to a mischievous webpage giving the impression that “NDDC will very soon commence a massive recruitment exercise.”
Abosede said, “The dubious message entitled ‘NDDC Recruitment 2023/2024 Application Form Registration Portal’, claimed that the NDDC recruitment 2023 starting date has been announced. It advised interested persons to visit the recruitment form, application portal (www.nddc.gov.ng) for requirements and other details.
“We wish to inform members of the public that this is not true as there is no plan for any such massive recruitment exercise.”
The statement said the dubious activities of these fraudsters using the webpage https://www.njps.com.ng were first indexed by Google more than 10 years ago.
“This webpage already identified as having fraudulent intent, also has links to purported recruitment into over ten other organisations.
“From all indications, the unauthorized recruitment notices are laced with mischief and members of the public must be wary of such activities.
“We advise those who need information on NDDC’s activities and programmes to always cross check facts at the Commission’s official website: (https://www.nddc.gov.ng) and other social media handles.
“Anyone claiming to represent the NDDC or its management in fraudulent recruitment announcements must be treated as a criminal and reported to security agencies for appropriate sanctions,” the commission said.
