NDE Empowers Youths, Women In Osun

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Osun State has empowered 48 youths and women with facilities as a starter packs for job establishment and wealth creation.

At the just-concluded orientation and disbursement programme organised by Rural Employment Promotion (REP) Department of Osun NDE in Osogbo, the director-general, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, emphasised the need to align with President Tinubu vision.

He expressed his commitment to giving renewed hope to the unemployed by empowering them sufficiently for self-reliance and sustainability.

Fikpo, who was represented by Osun State NDE coordinator, Mr. Fakunle Julius, stressed the need for the beneficiaries who had earlier been up-skilled through agricultural training to key into the vision of combating mass unemployment by embracing the opportunity created for them to be employed and inturn boost the nation’s economy.

He said ever since the policy was launched,  Fikpo had expressed his willingness to take the responsibility to the next level of success by empowering the unemployed persons through training and empowerment coupled with equal opportunities for all Nigerians.

Also, Dr. Sylvester Ekemnoye, who represented the head of REP Department, in his goodwill message, enjoined the beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunity provided by the programme bearing in mind that the facility provided is repayable as at when due.

He urged them to count themselves fortunate to be selected among millions of people seeking for such opportunities adding that when they judiciously use the opportunity, it will further impact on families, communities and the nation at large.
