Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has partnered with the Niger State government for the purpose of processing some agricultural produce for export to boost the economy.
The executive director of the council, Dr Ezra Yakusar, stated this yesterday in Minna during a stakeholders’ engagement forum.
“Niger State is at an advantage with the large land mass and availability of most of these agricultural products left untapped that can feed the global market, with the right policies, documentation, financing and quality assurance of these products there would be a remarkable boost in economic activities in the state,” he said.
Yakusar, who was represented by the Niger State coordinator of NEPC, Mr Bello Ibrahim Noma, said the forum was aimed at fostering a collaborative environment where stakeholders would share insights and explore opportunities to drive export in the state to new heights.
He said exports play a pivotal role in the growth and prosperity of any economy by creating jobs and increasing the foreign exchange repatriated.
The NEPC boss added that the council is committed to assisting agric-businesses in the state by adding value to their produce to gain access to international markets.
