The National Education Research Development Council (NERDC) has repainted its office building in Lagos after being criticised for the level of dilapidation on social media.

The action followed a series of posts highlighting the deteriorated state of the building.

On Wednesday morning, an X user, @miztumz, shared an image of the repainted building, tagging another social media user, @winexviv, and captioned, “They repainted it because of your tweet.”

LEADERSHIP recalls that one Alex Onyia, with the handle @winexviv, posted a photo of the dilapidated building on July 11, 2024, with the caption, “This is NERDC (National Education Research Development Council) in Jibowu, Lagos, close to the WAEC office. This is the body in charge of the curriculum used in secondary schools.”

The development highlights the place of accountability in the day-to-day activities of government agencies given the provisions in their annual budgets.
