A third suspect has finally admitted to helping killers end the life of American hip-hop icon, Jam Master Jay, nearly 24 years after the musician was shot dead.

Jay Bryant, 52, pleaded guilty in a Brooklyn court on Monday, confessing that he helped gunmen gain access to the recording studio where the musician was shot dead in 2002.

Reading from a statement, Bryant admitted he knew a crime was about to happen. “I knew there was going to be a gun used to kill Jason Mizell. I knew what I was doing was wrong,” he said.
He explained that the murder was connected to a failed drug deal involving cocaine. While he admitted to letting the attackers into the building, he did not name the specific person who pulled the trigger.

The breakthrough in the case came after investigators found Bryant’s DNA on a hat left at the crime scene. He now faces a prison sentence of 15 to 20 years for his role in the killing.
