The new leadership of Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) has assumed duties in Adamawa State.
In his inaugural speech at the church headquarters in Kwarhi yesterday, the new president, Rev (Dr) Daniel Mbaya, promised to consolidate on the gains of the past leaders towards instilling the fear of God in the hearts of the about 15 million members of the church.

Mbaya said the church would ensure spiritual and infrastructural development for recovery from destructions caused by insurgency and improving the church mission and vision in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

He noted that plans are on the way to introduce other prospects and developments that would bring glory to God and edify the church both physically and spiritually.

The new leader lauded state government authority for fostering peaceful coexistence and unity among diverse people of the state.

Those inaugurated include Rev (Dr) Daniel Mbaya – president, Rev Nuhu Mutah Abba – vice president, Rev James Musa – general secretary and Rev Timta Luka Musa as administrative secretary.

Earlier, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, promised to work with the new leadership towards making the state a better place and advocated the need for interfaith relationship, harmony and profound respect for one another’s religious beliefs and practices.

“Justice and fairness mark the centre of my oath in service to the state and the foundation of this administration’s success,” he said and called on the president to make his voice heard where there is deprivation and injustice.
