On Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, the National Amalgamation for the Continuation of Renewed Hope (NACRH) has been inaugurated in Abuja.

It pledges to champion the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda.

The civic coalition, described as a historic platform, aims to unify civil society groups, unions, grassroots actors, professional associations, youth and women’s organisations under one umbrella to champion the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform policies.

At the inauguration in Abuja, the national coordinator of NACRH, Olorunwa Adeleke, urged Nigerians to see the day as a commemoration of the country’s Independence and a moment of renewal and commitment to the nation’s future.

He said, “Sixty-five years ago, our forebears wrested political sovereignty, desiring a Nigeria founded on hope, unity and progress. Today, as President Tinubu declares, ‘the worst is over.’ Yesterday’s pains are giving way to relief. Let us amplify this message by turning our sacrifices into the mortar that cements Nigeria’s renewal,” Adeleke said.

On the rationale behind NACRH, Adeleke says the coalition is created to unify reform advocates, counter disinformation and serve as a bridge between the government and the people.

“NACRH is not a campaign tool. It is a civic platform, a guardian of reform continuity, and a voice for Nigeria’s hopeful majority. We exist to ensure that the sacrifices Nigerians are making today translate into lasting progress for generations to come,” he stressed.

Adeleke praised President Tinubu’s economic and structural reforms, noting that though they were painful, they had begun to yield dividends.
