New Horizons Nigeria, the country’s leading ICT training and certification company, has reached a major milestone in its two-decade-long journey of digital empowerment, successfully training over two million young Nigerians in cutting-edge tech skills.

The achievement was announced as the company received the “Africa’s Most Innovative IT Training and Certification Solution Brand of the Year” award at the 2025 African Brand Innovators Summit (AFRIBIS).

The AFRIBIS award recognizes New Horizons Nigeria’s relentless commitment to building globally competitive digital talents through inclusive, industry-relevant, and impact-driven training programs. Since its inception, the company has positioned itself as a catalyst for digital transformation by pioneering practical and certification-aligned tech education for students, professionals, and institutions nationwide.

AFRIBIS, in its award citation, applauded New Horizons Nigeria for the robustness of its curriculum, hands-on approach to training, and a strategic focus on job creation. Through its internship-linked training model, the organization helps bridge the gap between learning and employment, offering thousands of students real-world work experience and increasing their career prospects in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

“We are proud to have empowered over two million Nigerians with relevant digital skills in areas like AI, Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, Software Development, Cloud Computing, and Digital Marketing. This milestone is not just a number, it is a testament to our belief that Africa’s future lies in equipping its youth with the tools to innovate, compete, and lead in the global tech ecosystem,” the managing director of New Horizons Nigeria. Mr. Tim Akano affirmed.

Operating as the Nigerian franchise of New Horizons International, the world’s largest ICT training organization with presence in over 90 countries, New Horizons Nigeria has built strong partnerships with global certification bodies to ensure its students receive internationally recognized credentials. Its annual footprint includes training and certifying over 100,000 students across universities and secondary schools in Nigeria.

In an effort to break financial barriers, New Horizons Nigeria offers 50 percent to 100 percent scholarships to over 20,000 students yearly, with a particular focus on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. This initiative has enabled thousands of underserved youths to access premium tech education that would otherwise be out of reach.

With nearly 300 local, continental, and international awards in tech education and youth empowerment, New Horizons Nigeria continues to raise the bar for excellence in the digital skills sector. Its mission remains clear: to bridge the digital divide, promote inclusive access to technology, and shape a new generation of African innovators, developers, and digital leaders.
