A new commissioner of police for Nasarawa State, Mr. Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has assumed duty in Lafia.
Mohammed is the 29th commissioner of police in the state. He replaced CP Umar Shehu Nadada who was recently promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police.
A statement by the state police command’s public relations officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the new CP hails from Mubi North LGA of Adamawa State and holds (B.Ed) in Physical and Health Education from the University of Maiduguri.
He Joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and has served the Nigeria Police Force in various states and capacities such as: Acting Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia Nassarawa State Command; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Zone 8 Lokoja and Gombe State Command respectively.
He also served as coordinator, North-West Border Zone Katsina and Lagos, and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Liaison INEC, Abuja.
He equally worked as Aide-Camp to Former Governor of Katsina State/ President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Late Umaru Musa Yar’adua, O/C SARS, Bauchi State, OC CIB, Katsina State and Commander, Idiroko Border Patrol respectively.
He was also a Divisional Police officer, Panshakara, Kano, Roro Port, Lagos and Daura Division, Katsina State Police Command among others.
