He said they were targeted at making positive impacts within and outside the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In his speech yesterday in Abuja, Callistus, who is the 35th president of the club, said the club would concentrate on water and sanitation projects, tree planting/environmental sanitation in “our sponsored schools in FCT, economic and community development projects, especially women empowerment.”

He said: “I am humbled and grateful for this great mandate given to me to serve as the 35th president of Rotary foundation, this year with theme: ‘Create Hope In The World.’”

“As the 35th president of the club I will focus on the health empowerment of girl child, education initiatives and promote peace in our society in general so that our people will have a common interest among themselves,” he added.

He said Rotary Club of Garki Abuja has been built upon a solid foundation with “our track records visible in leadership character and service to humanity.

I consider myself fortunate to have a membership that wholeheartedly embraces the Rotary ideal of ‘service above self’.

According to him, “Our club members go the extra mile in strengthening the foundation and undertaking numerous worthy projects across the FCT community for the betterment of all. We will keep impacting our community and never let our doors close in time providing basic amenities, water supply boreholes, malaria drugs for our people in the rural areas.”
