Dr Fabian Onyebuchi Iwuoha, the Imo State Commander of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS), has urged citizens to embrace a renewed sense of peaceful disposition, love, and unity towards the state, nation, and humanity as the New Year commences.

Dr. Iwuoha said that this season, which marks reunions and gatherings, presents an opportunity for people to appreciate their state, country, and the people around them.

He said this during a press conference in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

The NHFSS Commander noted the significance of love and joy, attributing them as critical elements in celebrating the New Year, echoing God’s love for mankind by sending His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, for redemption.

He noted their tireless efforts to support security agencies in safeguarding the nation’s forests, commending the government’s endeavours at both state and national levels to improve the quality of life for Nigerians, assuring everyone of a promising future.

“The New Year signifies a new beginning filled with renewed hope and vigour. We are grateful to God for the gift of life and good health, looking forward to a year of prosperity and improved livelihoods for Nigerians. As we move forward, we pray for peace, unity, and sustainable development in the country.”

Dr. Iwuoha said that the season allows people worldwide to reunite with family, urging everyone to renew their love for their state, nation, and humanity.

“Today, I urge all of us to rekindle our love for our state, nation, and humanity. Let us use this New Year to recommit to showing love to one another, for the sake of God. If God demonstrated such love by sacrificing His only begotten son, we should, in turn, renew our love for fellow human beings. We are grateful that the enemy’s plans for our state did not materialise. As we embark on this new year with divine blessings.”

He also highlighted the administration’s significant progress in enhancing citizens’ social welfare.

While acknowledging the impact of ongoing federal economic reforms on the populace, Dr. Iwuoha expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s good intentions for Nigerians and remained optimistic that these reforms would soon yield positive results.

He encouraged people to confront challenges with renewed hope and love, believing that genuine love among citizens would lead the nation to triumph.
