NFF Earmarks N14.4bn For 2024

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has earmarked N14.4 billion for it’s activities in 2024.

The figure, N14,494,469,293.00, was approved by it’s Congress at the 79th Annual General Assembly (AGM) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Sunday.

Though, the details of the budget breakdown was not made public, the bulk of the sum is expected to cover financial considerations for 2026 World Cup qualifying matches and next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire as well as operating costs of the NFF secretariat.

“The congress approved the Nigeria Football Federation’s 2024 Budget proposal of the sum of N14,494,469,293.00 (Fourteen Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety-Four Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-Nine Thousand and Two Hundred and Ninety-Three Naira) only,” a communique issued at the end it’s meeting in Uyo stated.

The federation also adopted the change of Nigeria Professional Football League’s name to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Federation pledged full support to the Super Eagles in its quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA/Mexico/Canada and commended the efforts of the various national teams, in particular the outstanding performance of the Super Falcons at the just concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, and the U17 girls’ bronze medal-winning effort at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup India 2022.
