At the presentation of relief materials to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the St Luke’s Primary school Adankolo, the State coordinator of AONN, Henry Hellen, said women and Children constituted over 250 of the over 500,000 displaced persons across Kogi.

She called on the government to step up its intervention to this vulnerable group of persons who she said have lost all their livelihood and are in critical need of survival.

According to her, the children and the over 41 pregnant women at the Adankolo camp need urgent medical attention, even as she commended the medical team at the camp for rendering medical services to the displaced persons.

The group’s coordinator also commended the state government for putting in place effective security measures at the camp, to ensure the safety of the people at the camp.
