A non-governmental organisation, ELITE Women Development Network International, is seeking redress over the breach of contract venue by the management of the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Kado District, Abuja.
Consequently, it said the issue has been reported to its lawyers at Falana and Falana’s Chambers.
The organisation said due to the breach, its earlier scheduled programme for the 20th of this month, has been postponed and a new date will be communicated in due course.
A statement issued by the organisation, said, “To all our partners and stakeholders, kindly be rest assured that your earlier involvement with our event is still guaranteed.
“We are working hard to ensure this promise, as the issue has been reported to our lawyers at Falana and Falana’s Chambers. Consequently, a new date will be communicated in due course.”
According to the statement, the unfortunate postponement is as a result of the unjust irregularities and alterations of the confirmed booking arrangements made for the use of the Banquet Hall for both its events (Morning Conference & Paper Presentations – 8:00am-3:00pm and Evening Awards & Honours Ceremony – 5:00pm-9:00pm).
The ELITE Women Development Network International said this has also occasioned the decline in health of its convener/chief host and founder, Ambassador Shirley N. Hills, who is currently being hospitalised at the Zitadel Medical Hospital, Gwarinpa as a result of the shock of the news and injustice by the NAF Conference Centre and its management.
It expressed regret over any inconvenience the sudden postponement has caused the parties involved.
