A non-governmental organisation, Tattaaunawa Roundtable Initiative (TRICentre), has unveiled the Jos Studies Hub, a new platform dedicated to promoting dialogue, peacebuilding and community development.
The initiative promises to become a vital engine room for intellectual discourse, collaborative research and community-driven solutions focused on Plateau State and the North Central states.
The convener and team lead of Tattaaunawa Roundtable Initiative, Charles Dickson, while speaking to LEADERSHIP Weekend in Jos after the unveiling, said the JSH is an interdisciplinary global platform designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical action.
The organisation has a mission of bringing together diverse voices from the academia and the wider community to generate innovative solutions and contribute to a more prosperous and equitable future for Plateau State and Nigeria.
According to him, the platform is dynamic and inclusive made up of scholars, activists, students, policymakers, artists and educators rooted in Jos and North Central states committed to fostering a deeper understanding of the complex challenges and opportunities facing the region.
He maintained that the core mission of the JSH is to deepen the rigor of contemporary discourse on pressing issues, stressing that it was dedicated to creating a vibrant space for critical exchange between “town and gown,” actively cultivating dialogue between academic expertise and the lived experiences of those working on the ground.
Dickson further pointed out that they believe that truly impactful solutions are borne from thought-provoking questions and the rigorous exploration of complex challenges from multiple perspectives, moving beyond problem identification to collaboratively forge solution-based answers that are both theoretically sound and practically relevant.
