In a statement signed by the group’s National President, Engr. Henry Uzoma, and National Secretary, Hon. Chinedu Opara, the youths hailed the appointment as a transformative decision for Ngor Okpala Local Government Area (LGA), Imo State and the South East region at large.

The group described the gesture as a historic milestone, noting it as the first significant federal appointment for Ngor Okpala LGA.

They lauded the President for taking a decisive step towards fulfilling the post-civil war 3R mantra of Reconciliation, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction for the South East.

According to the group, the appointment signaled the imminent operationalisation of the SEDC, as a critical platform for the region’s development.

The youths also extended their appreciation to Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, for his pivotal role in the appointment process.

The group extolled Dr Clifford Ogbede as a visionary leader whose professional track record and moral integrity make him an excellent choice for the role.

They described his appointment as a “clinical choice,” emphasizing his passion for service and impressive achievements in both public and private sectors.

The Ogbako Ngor Okpala Youths further commended the 10th National Assembly for supporting the President’s administration in actualising the dream of rebuilding Igboland through a legally established and funded body.

The group reiterated its unwavering support and loyalty to President Tinubu’s administration, expressing optimism for the continued growth and development of the South East region.

The statement reads in parts, “We , members of Ogbako Ngor Okpala Youths, wish to thank and commend the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his remarkably well taken magnanimous decision of finding one of our most revered and respected political leader, Dr Clifford Ogbede, worthy of appointment as Executive Director Agriculture, Rural Development and Natural Resources in the South East Development Commission, SEDC.

Your Excellency, this gesture of yours signalling imminent take off of SEDC remains unprecedented in the history of South East Region and Ngor Okpala LGA in particular”.

“Our beloved President Tinubu, we make bold to inform you that your choice of Dr Ogbede could be described as a clinical choice,in view of his absolute fittedness as a square peg in the square hole of the Executive Director position he was appointed into.

Indeed, Ngor Okpala is overwhelmed by this rare gesture of yours towards us, and we believe the people of the South East Region as a whole, are also feeling super excited as we are. On this note therefore, we hereby decree and declare our total support and loyalty to you, and your administration. Your Excellency, be assured of our total support and cooperation going forward”.

“At this juncture, let us also express our heartfelt words of gratitude to Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, the high performing Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, for his pivotal role in the process that led to this appointment.

You have indeed, proven that you are a man of strong character, who while making new friends, never forgets his past relationships”.
