The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reduced nomination fees for all positions for its forthcoming congress at the state, local government and ward levels even as former member of House of Representatives, Baba Shehu Agaie, was ratified as the party leader in the state.
The National Treasurer of the party, Dr Ibrahim Mani, while updating party stakeholders in Minna on the decisions of the national leadership of the party said the decision was to enable inclusive contest by aspirants.
He said, “The cost of nomination forms for ward chairman was reviewed from N30, 000 to N10,000, while that of Secretary was dropped to N7,000 from N25, 000 and other officers will now pay NN3, 000 instead of N10, 000.”
Mani said the party’s local government Chairmanship nomination form is now N40,000 as against N250, 000, Secretary was slashed to N30, 000 from N200,000 while other positions were reduced to N10,000 from N100,000.
He explained that fees for nomination forms at the state level have also be reduced by 50% saying that ” for instance State Chairmanship form is now N500,000 as against the initial N1 million ”
He, however, announced that the reduction in cost of nomination forms did not however apply to the national positions disclosing that former Member of House of Representatives, Baba Shehu Agaie was ratified as the leader of the party in Niger state.
Meanwhile, the stakeholders affirmed the nomination of Alhaji Umar Shuaibu as the Chairman of the Niger State leadership Coordinating Committee, Sadiq Adamu Lafu, as his Deputy while Mohammed Nazil Mohammed was to serve as the secretary of the committee.
