The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board which recently started the process of flying pilgrims from Minna airport has announced the passing of one of its pilgrims, Ramatu Abubakar, in Saudi Arabia.
The spokesman of the board, Jibrin Usman Kodo, said the deceased was part of the first group of pilgrims who left from Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna for Saudi Arabia. Ramatu Abubakar, a 45-year-old from Bida local government area of the state, passed away at a hospital in Madina after a brief illness.
The board said the burial prayers for Ramatu Abubakar took place on Friday morning in Madina, in accordance with Islamic rites. The executive secretary of the board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, extended his condolences to the family of Ramatu, describing her death as a significant loss to the board and the entire state. He also offered prayers for her soul and for the family to have the strength to bear the loss.
