Some members of the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Watch have called for the removal Major. General Barry Ndiomu (rtd) as the interim administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) over alleged corruption.

The coordinator, Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Watch, Onadigha Destiny Perewari Esq and the secretary, Olu Priye Oyeh  in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin asked President Bola Tinubu to order an investigation of the activities of Ndiomu, noting that agency had become a cesspool of corruption.

The special adviser to the interim administrator, Freston Akpo,  when contacted, declined response to messages sent to him on the allegation.

But the group stated; “Since the interim administrator came on board to head the amnesty office, his activities have been characterised with corruption.

“As a group we frown at the supposed loan scheme created by the interim administrator. The cooperative loan in itself is a scam as there is no clear cut approach for ex- agitators to access the supposed loan.

“Recently, some students who are not ex-agitators were deployed to some universities, whereas some ex-agitators, since the inception of the Amnesty Programme who are bent on studying have not been deployed.

“As a group it is our clarion call that in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Agenda of “Renewed Hope”, we demand that a committee be set up to investigate the activities of Maj. Gen Barry Ndiomu (rtd) and his removal from office”.
