The police public relations officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said in a statement yesterday that Ayodeji hails from Oyo town in Oyo West local government area of Oyo State.

He said the new CP has solicited the support of all stakeholders, residents, and the entire people of the state to provide useful information to the command, to build on the successes of his predecessor towards ensuring a peaceful environment in the state for economic growth and development.

He holds BSc and MSc degrees in Political Science from the University of Ibadan in 1985 and 1988 respectively and was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as a Cadet ASP in March, 1990.
