The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the appointment of Abubakar Sadiq Idris as the new Head of Service of Niger State.

A statement issued by Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SGS), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, disclosed that the appointment is with immediate effect.

The statement urged the new HOS to discharge his responsibility within the confines of civil service rules and regulations and to apply his cognate experience to his new assignment.
The statement enjoined all Civil Servants in the State to support and cooperate with the new Head of Service in consolidating the achievements of his predecessors.

Until his appointment, Abubakar Idris was the Permanent Secretary of General Services, SSG’s Office. He has also worked in many Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), including the Ministries of Water Resources, Solid Minerals, and Public Service Office.
According to the statement, “Civil Servants in the State are enjoined to always exhibit values such as loyalty, probity, transparency and integrity in the discharge of their assigned duties”.

The statement thanked the immediate past HOS, Engr. Abubakar Y. Salisu, for his outstanding performances, described his tenure as exceptional and rewarding.

The statement stressed that Governor Bago congratulated the new Head of Service on his appointment and wished him success and God’s guidance in performing the arduous duties of his new Office.
