Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the appointment of the Emir of Kagara, Malam Ahmed Garba Gunna Attahiru II, as the state’s amirul hajj for the 2024 hajj exercise.
A statement issued by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, disclosed that the appointment of the first class traditional ruler was based on his track record of hard work, commitment, patriotism and trustworthiness.
“It is expected that the Emir of Kagara will bring his knowledge and wealth of experience to bear in the performance of this assignment,” the statement said.
It urged the amirul hajj to justify the confidence reposed in him by the state government and help make the 2024 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia a successful and hitch-free operation.
