Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has charged the new chairman of Katcha local government area, Musa Isyaku of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to resolve the communal clashes in Kpata-Katcha community.
Governor Bello gave the charge after swearing in the chairman at the Government House, Minna at the weekend.
The governor who expressed concern over the lingering crisis in the community drew the attention of the chairman on the need to address it squarely.
“Now, you are in the position of leadership, the problem is back on your head and it will be the first problem you will face. So go and solve it,” he said.
He urged people of the area to respect the fundamental human rights of all Nigerians, saying that Nigerians are free to live in any part of the country but must respect constituted authorities.
While congratulating the chairman, the governor urged him to carry everyone along and remain guided by the oath of office and allegiance he had taken for him to succeed.
