Niger State government has cleared the N205 million out of the backlog owed to the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), to enable the candidates in the state to access their results.
The special adviser on print media to the governor, Ms Aisha Wakaso told journalists yesterday in Minna that the action was to ensure the release of results of candidates withheld.
She said that the state government had also given a directive for the payment of N30 million monthly to NECO to enable it clear the backlog of debts the state is owning.
Similarly, Wakaso said the state government has taken delivery of samples of CNG buses which are meant to be used for free transportation.
She said that government has given approval for the remaining buses to be brought for full utilization of the government’s free transportation programme.
According to her, the government is committed to the wellbeing of the people of the state.
