The Senator representing Niger North and Chairman of Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Abubakar Sani Bello has donated the sum of N50million in aid of the devastating flood that ravaged Mokwa, Niger State.
The donation was announced on behalf of the Senator Bello by a high-level delegation to express his condolences to the people of Mokwa, following the recent catastrophic flooding that resulted in loss of lives and properties.
According to a statement by his Media Adviser, Muawiyah Yusuf Muye, the delegation led by former Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adamu Usman, and former House of Representatives member and former Chief of Staff to the Senator, Hon. Mikhail Al-Amin Bmitosahi, was received at the Palace of the Ndalile of Mokwa, Alhaji Shaba Aliyu, by the Vice Chairman of the Mokwa local government area.

Usman, while speaking on behalf of Bello, conveyed the Senator’s heartfelt condolences to the victims and the entire Mokwa community.
“Senator Sani Bello specifically asked us to represent him in conveying his deepest sympathies to the people of Mokwa.
“Though currently on pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, he is deeply saddened by this tragic event.
“He described the situation as not only shocking but unimaginable. In times like these, he believes the best we can do is to stand in solidarity and provide relief,” the former Speaker stated.
The senator prayed for the repose of the departed souls and for divine restoration for those who lost properties.
“In a gesture of solidarity, he directed me to announce a donation of ₦50 million to support the victims in rebuilding their lives,” Usman announced.
Responding on behalf of the Mokwa community, the royal father expressed profound gratitude to Senator Bello for his compassion and generosity.
“We deeply appreciate this visit and the Senator’s kind gesture. While we accept this tragedy as the will of Allah, it remains an unexpected calamity. Our town has no history of a running river or flooding of this magnitude.
“To wake up to such chaos and loss is deeply sobering. Nonetheless, we take solace in faith and the support of compassionate leaders,” the traditional ruler said.
