Niger State workers on Monday joined their counterparts in states across the country to lock all government offices in compliance with the indefinite nationwide strike called by the Organised Labour to demand higher wage for Nigerian workers.

The gates to the state secretariat, State House of Assembly and the Judiciary Complex were put under lock and keys as workers hanged around the gates to ensure compliance.

At the state House of Assembly, the state chapter of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) enforced the industrial action by preventing workers from accessing the Complex.

LEADERSHIP observed that unlike previous exercises, senior government officials were not allowed into their offices at Lafene Secretariat on Old Secretariat and the State Assembly Complex.

In the same vein, the Federal Secretariat along Dusten Kura Road in Minna was empty as all categories of workers complied with the strike action.
