Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has urged Nigerians to reflect more on what unites them as a nation than what divides them.
Governor Bago in a congratulatory message by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, to mark the 63rd anniversary of Nigeria’s nationhood, said the oneness of Nigeria remained more advantageous despite the challenges being faced.
He acknowledged that the nation had not attained the desired level of development yet, but that it is not static in its developmental strides.
The governor called on Nigerians to have deep and sober reflections on what the nation has gone through in the past decades and they would have reasons to thank God.
He urged all Nigerians to remain resolute and supportive in their individual and collective efforts towards nation-building to move the country forward, especially under the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Tinubu who has so far shown commitment and resilience to keep the nation on an upward trajectory.
The governor assured people of Niger that the state under his leadership would experience unprecedented transformation and that he would take necessary steps to expand the state’s economy through strategic foreign partnerships and ensure that palpable peace is felt in the state.
While congratulating Nigerians on the 63rd anniversary of nationhood, the governor further prayed to God to continue to keep Nigeria as one indivisible entity where peace, justice, equity and fairness take centre stage so that the labour of leaders in the past and present will not be in vain.
