Kwara State governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq yesterday reminded Nigerians that nation-building requires collective efforts.

Even though he said that he was upbeat about Nigeria being destined for greatness, the governor, in his independence anniversary message to Nigerians, said: “I am upbeat that this country is destined for greatness. Together, we can achieve not just the dream of our fathers for Nigeria but surpass it as everyone plays their roles in their own corners.

“But we need to know that nation-building is a marathon and an endeavour that requires collective efforts to achieve. I commend the president for his bold reforms and the palliatives to temper its initial fallouts on the people, including the huge efforts to boost food security and critical national infrastructure. This is being complemented at subnational levels with improved infrastructural development, investments in human capital development, and different economic initiatives and social protection measures designed to improve the living conditions of the people.

“I join Mr President and other patriots to appeal for patience and support as we navigate this phase. The fruits will be sweeter for all.

Happy Independence Anniversary, dear compatriots.”

In the statement signed by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Nigerians on the country’s 64th anniversary.
