The governor said Nigeria is a blessed nation with abundant human, natural and capital resources and expressed hope for a better country.

He said governments are intensifying efforts at all levels to strengthen institutions and implement reforms that would maximise the nation’s potential, improve and protect the people.

The governor paid tributes to the nation’s founding fathers and others who have made significant contributions to keep the country united.

While acknowledging the challenges bedevilling the country, the governor urged Nigerians to reflect on the progress made and renew their commitment to patriotism and selflessness, as they are key to a nation’s progress.

He said the task of nation-building is collective; hence, Nigerians should continue to pray for purposeful leadership at all levels.

Bago reaffirmed his support for the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in agriculture, infrastructure, health, education, youth and women’s empowerment, and others.
He assured the residents of the state that his administration remains committed to actualising the New Niger Agenda that will create several economic opportunities to better their lives and ensure their safety.

“As we celebrate the 65th Independence anniversary of our nation, I urge us all to reflect on the progress the nation has made, see our diversity as a strength and make a fresh commitment to be united, patriotic, positive, prayerful and hopeful that Nigeria will be a better country,” he added.
