Nigeria Is Proud Of You, Minister Hails D’Tigress

The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh has congratulated Nigeria’s D’Tigress for qualifying for the quarter-final of women’s basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Minister, in a press statement said D’Tigress qualified for quarter finals, not just as a national team, but as the first African team (male or female) to make the quarter finals of the Olympics.

“You were amongst the lowest ranking team,12th place ,yet you defeated the FIBA nos 3 and 5 to get to quarter finals.

“You have given all of Nigeria a reason to celebrate. We appreciate you.

“Favour Ofili, you stopped at nothing to prove your mettle, you are truly a star . You put all that seemed to dampen you behind you and soared during the heats.”

He noted that the country was proud of them for giving Nigeria a reason to jubilate.
