Nigeria Needs New Constitution For Development – Ologbonyo

A renowned Cleric, Prophet Adegboyega Ologbonyo, has advocated for a new constitution that will allow regions and states in Nigeria to develop at their pace with the resources available to them.

Ologbonyo, who is the planter of Christ Apostolic Church, Boanerges Worldwide, also called on Nigerians to propel the change being clamoured in their families and as individuals to end hardship in the country said development and growth may elude the nation without a new and workable constitution in place.

Fielding questions from newsmen after the funeral service held in honour of his late mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Oludolapo Abere in Efon Alaaye Ekiti, said, “I have been saying it, and I will not stop but continue to say it. Our present constitution can never work for us, no matter how prayerful we are. That constitution is not for all Nigerians; it is for a few people.

“I am proposing and suggesting that they allow each state and each region to be using whatever resources they get from their area to develop their place, and with that, I think our country will move forward; without that and with the present constitution, we are going nowhere as a nation.

“Let us join hands together to amend and change the constitution. I can tell you that every developed nation today has a working constitution or laws that control everything. If there is a system on the ground that controls everything, including everybody, things will likely work out well.

 

 

 

“God has blessed this country; we don’t need to pray for blessings again. Many countries our people are running to today in the name of ‘Japa’ don’t have half of what we have in Nigeria. God has blessed us already; we just need to put some systems in place to use the blessings to our advantage.”

 

 

 

On the hardship and the protests recently staged in the country, the man of God said it is obvious that the pains and the hardship in the country are much everybody, irrespective of their class, knows that things are not accessible.
