The Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) has reaffirmed its confidence and faith in the leadership of Comrade Jerry Onyemachi Ugwu as the president of the organisation.

This declaration was contained in a release issued by NYO members from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

This is contained in a statement signed by the vice president of NYO, Hon. Aliyu Musa Yankara. The statement debunked the claim by one Dr Duke Alamboye, who had allegedly conferred upon himself the presidency of the organisation.

Yankara said this misleading stance prompted a swift reaction from the hierarchy of the organisation, acclaimed for peace-building, deepening democratic values, and the promotion of the virtues of nation-building, to dismiss the claim and correct the wrong impression.

He said the assembly of youths, made up of professionals, experts, captains of industries, and youths who have found themselves in key political roles, cannot turn a blind eye to what it said were the activities of unscrupulous people who are out to undermine and truncate Mr Jerry Onyemachi Ugwu’s caretaker-led committee.

He further called for the immediate suspension of Dr Olusegun Adeleye, described as the erstwhile secretary of the board of trustees.

Yankara stressed that Jerry Ugwu, who was conferred with the honour of ambassador of peace and unity based on his dedication and commitment to youth development and social empowerment, is the authentic leader of the organisation.
