Nigerian Army Emerges Champions Of Inter Service Sports 2022

The Nigerian Army team has emerged champions at the just concluded 2022 inter service sports.

The Army team emerged champions with seven gold medals, and two silver medals while the Nigerian Air Force came second with two gold medals,four silvers and one bronze medals.

The the Nigerian Navy on the other hand came last with eight bronze and one silver medals.

The Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor while commending the winning team said the competition was designed to sharpen the physical fitness,mental alertness and skills of AFN personnel which are essential for combat readiness in the fight against insecurity.

The CDS who was represented by the Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Oladayo Amao said the competition also provided opportunity for participating teams from the 3 Services to compete for laurels and display comraderie and team spirit.

“The level of sportsmanship exhibited during this competition further gives credence to the premium placed on sports by the AFN and efforts towards enhancing the combat readiness of its personnel” he said.
