It also sought the support of the company in advancing its mandate in the training of officers and men of the armed forces.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the company’s corporate head office in Lagos, the commandant of the school, Major General Kennedy Osemwegie, said Globacom had since its inception over two decades ago, consistently demonstrated a strong Nigerian outlook and disposition. He noted that the company was extending the frontiers of who a Nigerian should be through its Nigeria-centred focus.

Emphasising the importance of collaboration in fostering civil-military relations, the commandant stated that the Signals school would be proud to partner with Glo Foundation, the social responsibility arm of Globacom, in fulfilling its academic and professional training mandate.

According to him, the visit was aimed at exploring areas where the company could support the school, particularly through its CSR initiatives. He was accompanied by other senior officials of the school.

Major General Osemwegie described NASS as the hub of training for Nigerian Army personnel in terms of ICT and communications for other paramilitary organisations, adding that the school was keen on forming strategic alliances with corporate entities such as Globacom to enhance the delivery of its mandate.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of Globacom’s management, the company’s director of strategy and board affairs, Mojisola Ashieru Sweet, reaffirmed Globacom’s pride in being an indigenous organisation driving life-transforming change across the country. She expressed the company’s readiness to collaborate with the school on critical areas of need.

Globacom explained to the visiting team that these could include the deployment of the Learning Management System (LMS), a key component of the Glo Smart Learning Suite, which can be customised to meet the specific requirements of educational institutions. The service offers tools for creating and delivering digital content, hosting live classes, administering online tests, and generating performance reports, along with instant messaging and video conferencing features to enhance the learning experience.

The solution also comes with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for seamless school administration, as well as bundled data to ensure students enjoy uninterrupted access to the platform.
