Nigerian Becomes First African Board Chair Of Project Management Institute

A Nigerian, Ike Nwakwo, has been appointed as the Chair of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Board of Directors.

This groundbreaking achievement marks a significant milestone for both Nigeria and Africa as a whole, solidifying the continent’s growing prominence in the field of project management.

Nwankwo, a seasoned project management professional, has a distinguished career within PMI as he previously served as the President of the PMI Nigeria Chapter, and the PMI Africa Region Mentor.

He then successfully transitioned to the global stage, serving on the PMI Global Board of Directors from 2021, was the Chair of the Board’s Governance Committee (2023-2024), before being appointed as Chair of Board of Directors.
