Nigerian Breweries Hosts Falcons, Restates Commitment To Nigeria’s National Teams

Nigerian Breweries Plc has hosted the Super Falcons at its corporate headquarters in Lagos to celebrate their historic triumph at the just-concluded CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Championship held in Morocco.

The team made Nigerians proud by coming from two goals down to clinch their 10th continental title with a 3-2 victory against the hosts, Morocco.

According to a press statement signed by Uzodinma Odenigbo, Corporate Affairs Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, the victorious team, including the coaching staff and members of the National Sports Commission and the Nigerian Football Federation, received a rousing reception from the management of Nigerian Breweries Plc.

Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Thibaut Boidin, commended the team for their dedication and resilience, which led to their successful outing at the competition.

Boidin, who congratulated the team for achieving the remarkable feat of winning the tournament for the 10th time, explained that their performance serves as a reminder of what is possible when Nigerians come together with courage and belief.

He stated, “Once again, congratulations on winning the tournament for the tenth time. Sports, as we all know, is always an inspiring activity.

You embody the values that are very close to our hearts as a company. It is even more inspiring that a day after your return to Nigeria, you are at our headquarters in Lagos to celebrate with us, marking a historic first by a corporate organisation following your remarkable victory in Casablanca.”

Expressing the company’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Super Falcons, just as it has done for all national teams of Nigeria through its various brands, he added, “We are proud to stand with the team for their outstanding performance at the tournament and for bringing glory to the nation. I commend the players for consistently bringing joy and pride to the hearts of Nigerians. For us, this gathering is a testament to our commitment to enduring support for Nigerian football and our strong partnership with the Nigerian Football Federation and the Super Falcons.”

Also speaking, Uzodinma Odenigbo expressed appreciation to the Super Falcons for making the country proud with their tenacity throughout the tournament, as well as their exceptional humility and warmth during the victory lap and engagement with employees at the company’s headquarters in Lagos.

“This visit is a powerful reminder that greatness is built on discipline, excellence, unity, and the courage to dream big and pioneer; values we cherish at Nigerian Breweries. We are incredibly proud of the Super Falcons and all they represent,” he said.

In her remarks, Rasheedat Ajibade, the captain who spoke on behalf of the team, expressed profound gratitude to Nigerian Breweries Plc for the financial reward extended to the team and the invaluable support towards women’s football development over the years.

Ajibade stated that the team is immensely proud of the outpouring of appreciation it has received, adding that they are motivated to replicate this achievement on the global stage.
