Nigerian Film Strained, Other Exciting Titles To Stream On Netflix This April

Nigerian film Strained alongside other exciting new titles such as Sherlock, Parasyte: The Grey, Midsummer Night, Files of the Unexplained, The Grimm Variations are scheduled to premiere on Netflix this April.

In Strained, scheduled to stream April 27, Ebere’s strained relationship with her estranged mother has an unexpected chance at rebirth when she visits to help daughter with her infant son.

‘Sherlock’ series 1 to 4, a modern-day reboot of Arthur Conan Doyle’s genius detective, as a tech-savvy consultant to Inspector Lestrade in London, will be available on the platform on April 1.

On April 3, viewers take a leap into the haunting events, bizarre disappearances, eerie encounters amongst other perplexing phenomena with the docuseries ‘Files of the Unexplained’.

Horror fans can look forward to the Korean series ‘Parasyte: The Grey’ where aliens that look like humans, act like humans but are definitely not humans, seeks world domination through violent takeover of humans, on April 5.

If you don’t fancy the horror genre, Netflix provides an alternative same day with the documentary ‘The Antisocial Network: Memes to Mayhem’, that explores how anonymous website evolved into a hub for real world chaos.

‘Midsummer Night’, and ‘The Crow Flies Season 3’, premieres April 11. The former is the story of Carina, who brings her family together for a traditional Swedish midsummer, but the happy occasion turns sour when long-kept secrets start to unfurl; and the latter sees old alliances broken and new relationships formed as a familiar face step take the spotlight.

There is something for Rom Com lovers in April 12, with the title ‘Love, Divided’ where young pianist Valentina who is starting over, becomes neighbour, David with an inventor who hates noise.

‘The Grimm Variations’, six fairy tales with a dark twist inspired by the Brothers Grimm classic adventure stories exposes the shadowy side of human desire streams April 17, whilst ‘Rebel Moon Part Two: The Caregiver’ begins streaming April 19.

 

Several Nigerian movies and limited series currently series on the global platform include: Adire, Merry Men 3, Nemesis, Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, A Taste of Sin, Dinner and ‘Afamefuna: An Nwa Boi Story’, to released late this March. In ‘Afamefuna: An Nwa Boi Story’, a prominent man is questioned by the police after his friend is found dead about their complex history together in the Igbo apprenticeship system.
