As the eighth season of the Nigerian Idol music reality contest intensifies Quest, Victory Gbakara, and Precious Mac, have emerged top three contestants, whilst Ose Daniel and Goodness were evicted.

The three finalists competed in a live show themed the ‘Viewer’s Choice’, with each contestant performing two songs – an unplugged version of a hit song and another selected by their fans on the show.

Prior to the stage performances, Guest Judge, Ikechukwu Eric Ahiauzu, aka Eric Hassani kicked off the show with a medley of his songs, Thunder Fire You and Amina to a standing ovation from the other judges and the audience. His performance was followed by Quest’s, the first contestant who performed Asa’s I Don Go. Hassani was mesmerized Victory’s rendition of Wizkid’s Blessed, and Pharell Williams’ Happy whilst singer Simi noted her excitement at Mac’s rendition of Ayra Starr’s Beggie Beggie – telling the contestant her good voice got her to top three.

However, Mac’s performance of Rihanna’s Diamonds garnered a standing ovation from the judges and audience alike, drawing the admiration singer D’banj who reacted with “you made us feel you.”
