The Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta (NNSSABK) 2001 Set Old Boys Association yesterday disclosed that it has concluded plans to host its first-ever Ex-Navy Boys Business Summit to empower its alumni and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The association’s president, Barrister Adedunmade Onibokun, along with other members of the executive committee, revealed this at a press briefing in Lagos. They emphasised the importance of economic empowerment for ex-navy boys.

According to him, the event, with the theme “Anchoring Success: Focusing on Building a Strong Foundation for Business Ventures,” aims to empower former Navy school alumni and small business owners by providing valuable tools for business success.

He explained that the summit, scheduled for the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, will involve physical and virtual participation.

“The Ex-Navy Boys Business Summit is a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship within the ex-navy community,” Onibokun said.

He explained that the initiative comes at a crucial time, as more individuals look to start their businesses or grow existing ones amid an increasingly challenging economic landscape.

“The summit is designed to equip attendees with essential skills in financial planning, risk management, and sustainable growth strategies. Through focused sessions, attendees will also gain insight into business innovation and creative problem-solving.

“There are two key sessions. They include Building a Business, which will cover financial planning, risk management, and strategies for sustainable growth, and Session 2, which will cover charting a Course: Business Innovation. Here, attendees will learn about innovative thinking, market trends, and creative solutions for business challenges.

“Besides knowledge-sharing, the summit will allow small businesses to showcase their products and services through exhibition stands, which are available at various price points. Exhibitors can promote their businesses to a targeted audience and potentially gain new clients and partners.
