The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is set to make its marks on the African continent with its inaugural event scheduled for 19th July 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa. In anticipation of this milestone, the PFL has revealed the details for its second event in Africa.
Scheduled for Saturday, 9th August, the second event will take place at the Big Top Arena in Carnival City, Johannesburg. The headline match features Nigeria’s rising star, Patrick Ocheme (6-1), going up against the experienced Guinean fighter, Mohamed Camara (5-2-1). This Featherweight First Round bout is particularly noteworthy as it showcases two of the finest fighters from West Africa, each vying for advancement in the tournament.
Tickets for this eagerly awaited event will go on sale on Thursday, 12th June, through TicketPro, with fans encouraged to purchase their tickets early to secure a spot for what promises to be an exhilarating night inside the SmartCage.
In the co-main event, attention will shift to the Welterweight division, where Angola’s Shido Boris Esperanca (9-1) is set to return after a successful debut with the PFL. He will face Gambia’s Ibrahima Mané (14-5) in a clash that is expected to be fiercely competitive, as both athletes aspire to take significant steps towards championship glory.
The event will feature a total of 32 fighters representing 15 different African nations, all competing across four PFL Africa divisions in the league’s quest to crown the first-ever PFL Africa Champions in 2025.
In another exciting development, Nigerian police officer Juliet Ukah is preparing to face South Africa’s Ceileigh Niedermayr in next month’s Women’s Strawweight Showcase Bout. The fighters will meet for an open workout on Wednesday, 25th June, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
