Nigerians have been told to be united in speaking truth to power for the betterment of the citizenry.
A renowned cleric, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, who stated this said the inability of Nigeria to sincerely speak with one voice on issues affecting them is undermining the nation’s growth and progress.
Alo, who is the planter, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, blamed the country’s challenges on what he called “the glaring fact of many countries in one country with each pursuing its own agenda and wanting to lord itself over others.”
The cleric in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti spoke during the dedication of toilet facilities donated to the Church at Prayer city, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos state.
While appealing to Nigerians in privileged positions to stop using such to compound the sufferings of the citizens who are already under the heavy weight of economic hardship, he said “I have always said it that the problem of Nigeria is not the President but Nigerians themselves.
“For instance, the president only said he would go ahead to implement fuel subsidy and immediately, fuel pump prices jumped up, house owners increased their rent and prices of commodities skyrocketed.”
The prophet who posited that men of God can no longer sit on the sidelines and watch or criticise without offering pathways to people in dire need of assistance said he is committed to the work of mentorship and philanthropy to young and indigent Nigerians.
He announced a week-long training for youths on confectionery, head gear styling, soap making among other vocational skills, alongside business support funds starter packs as part of activities marking this year’s Global Convention of the ministry.
