This was revealed when the director general of NIMC, Engr. Coker-Odusote visited the director of NPF-NCCC, CP Uche Ifeanyi Henry, in Abuja on Tuesday.

The CP said the visit aimed to explore potential collaboration opportunities to protect further NIMC’s data and digital infrastructure, combat cybercrime, and enhance national security.

The director, NPF-NCCC, who is also the head of INTERPOL Africa Cybercrime Units, emphasised the importance of collaboration, noting that “Although NIMC’s protection is strong, we seek to provide an additional layer of security, which is the responsibility of the Nigeria Police Force to protect lives and properties, including our digital information infrastructure and that of the federal government and NIMC.”

He also highlighted the centre’s core responsibilities and success stories. He showcased the centre’s state-of-the-art facilities, such as the OSINT Lab, Threat Response Lab, Network Analysis Lab, and Forensics Lab, where certified forensics experts demonstrated the center’s tools and capabilities, underscoring its expertise in addressing cyber threats in Nigeria and Africa.
